NEW BUCS HEAD COACH 2018-19 SEASON

September 20, 2018

SUNC are proud to announce the recruitment of a second BUCS head coach for the 2018-19 season. Beccy Lewis will work alongside current head coach Beckee Ball (who joined SUNC last season) to ensure that the girls can train and perform to the best of their abilities.

Beccy Lewis has gained valuable experience working with Surrey Storm and coaching in Australia over the past few years. We are incredibly excited to welcome her to the SUNC family and can’t wait to see what she can do with our 1s and 2s this year.

Last season’s head coach, Beckee Ball, will be continuing in her position as head coach alongside Beccy, but with a focus of training our 3s and 4s. Her work towards last season’s successes (such as two promotions and a top table BUCS finish) have distinguished her as an integral part of the club and we look forward to continuing in our successes next season.

Development Coaches 2018

September 14, 2018

Leia Griffin and Becca Lewis (not to be confused with Beccy Lewis) will be coaching our three development squads. Both players were key figures in our first team last season and hold a wealth of netball knowledge.

Throughout her netball career, Leia has represented England at a variety of tournaments including the U17 Netball Europe competition in Gibraltar. Furthermore, she has competed in the Netball Performance League (NPL) for both Manchester Thunder and Loughborough Lightning and was selected for Sport Sheffield’s Elite Sports Performance Scheme.

Becca played regional county netball in Manchester from U14 to U21 and was selected for the England University trials because of her evident natural ability in the sport.

Both girls will be completing their level 1 coaching certificate in the coming months, however, with the netball experience that they share between them they are more than prepared to provide high standard and high intensity training for our development squads.

Performance Sport!

June 22, 2018

SUNC have had the privilege of once again being selected as a Performance Sport for 2018-19 season. With the Performance Sport set up being updated this year, performance sport status is more prestigious than ever. The club has achieved this position by continuously growing as a club; 6/7 promotions in the last 3 years, top level performance, commitment to training and fitness, and dedication to charity and volunteering initiatives.

All of the girls at SUNC are excited to seize this opportunity and are looking forward to the successes of the upcoming season.
